We want to offer small-scale help to the people on the spot because of the advantages:
• The help offered is often more effective because of the short lines;
• There are hardly any overhead expenses;
• Direct control of the money spent;
• The receiver has full responsibility;
• Afterwards donors can be given information about how the money was spent in the projects they supported;
• There is a direct relationship between donor and receiver. Giving becomes exchanging, dialogue, the heart of all help.

Our partners in Kenya experience small-scale help as more effective:
• Good follow up by personal visits;
• A good understanding of the cultural context which is essential for success;
• Thinking in local initiatives and solutions;
• A greater chance – when problems arise – of keeping the projects going and completing them properly;
• A relationship that is supported by people and mutual relations, and not by figures and reports;
• Bridging the distance with the Third World in a respectful, involved and direct way.
• Usually effective with regard to costs.
